the farewell

"Today marks the closure of a significant chapter. 6 years 8 mths have indeed been a long journey. Just wanna say a big thank you to all who have been there along the way. Days have been made brighter with those fun & laughter, & made less tough with those sharing & guidance. Thanks for being a part of my treasured memories. And for all i know, a part of these memories will always follow, no matter where i may be."

a farewell dinner at newton to mark the end of the levi's journey.. had mixed feelings during the last few days of work.. somehow happy.. somehow sad.. happy that things are going to look brighter.. sad that i'll be leaving my dear colleagues and friends..

6 years and 8 months..
memories aplenty..
happy and sad..

but i know i should move on and look forward..

and so its time to say goodbye..

take care all my dear friends!!

far-fetched idea

came across the picture of this car in one of the magazines whilst getting my hair done at the hair salon.. this car indeed seems like an absolute beauty.. think its one of the latest model from ford and its called fiesta.. even the name sounds just as nice..

i used to think that 2-door sedans are troublesome.. totally not convenient especially if its a family car.. perhaps this idea came from my vague memory that daddy used to have a car like this when i was young.. i remember climbing in and out behind the passenger seat whenever we rode in the car.. and there were the times where i would climb over to the front seats just to get out from the car and it was thanks to those laziness of shifting the seat..

but looking at the picture changed my mind.. i'm beginning to think that a 2-door sedan might not be a bad idea after all.. even though this car also comes in a 4-door version, i still think that the 2-door version is much nicer.. but well.. my dream of getting a car still seems too far-fetched for now..

trip to the suburbs

11 aug - 14 aug
had a trip back to my grandparents place in perak, malaysia. haven't been back there since april last year. it has been more than a year long since i saw gong gong and po po.. the short but yet fulfilling 3 days trip made me realize how simple and happy those family bonding sessions can be..

i still remember when i was young, the majority of my school holidays was spent there.. those times were fun when all my cousins were there at the same time.. but it got really boring when everyone wasn't there.. its a typical kampong with no shopping malls, no cinemas.. so whenever i'm there, i would plan in advance lots of self entertainment to keep myself occupied.. at times it would leave me feeling so bored that i simply wish that i could come home sooner.. the lifestyle over at there basically is to wake ard 9 in the morning.. eat breakfast.. come home slack.. eat lunch at 1.. then slack.. have tea at 4 plus 5.. go cycling.. take turns to shower.. dinner at 7 plus.. slack.. and bedtime at 10 plus 11.. a great difference from my daily lifestyle here in sg.. which is why i always feel bored when i'm there..

but amazingly, this trip back to the suburbs didn't make me feel as bored as before.. in fact the 3 days seemed to have passed very quickly.. rested and relaxed thru out those 3 days.. watched dvd, managed to pay back my sleep debt, enjoyed gorging on food.. and most importantly, i enjoyed spending time with my family.. simple days of just spending time together and it was definitely time well spent..

camwhored before flight..

camwhored with cousin wenshan and baby cousin wenyao.. part of my entertainment.. haha =D
as we can see, wenshan enjoys making faces in front of the camera.. really 古灵精怪..

these are some of the scenes at my grandparents' place..

and this is my gong gong.. taken just before we left there..

another family bonding time coming up soon in december and i'm so looking forward to it.. this time round with more pple.. malacca trip.. i'm feeling excited alrdy..

those crazy moments

after work one day, we were so free and had nothing better to do.. so we put on the mannequin's wig and took random shots of ourselves. talk about team bonding.. haha..

then came the day of bobbie's birthday. bought him a slice of strawberry shortcake from breadtalk which he absolutely loves. couldn't keep his eyes and tongue off the cake throughout.

picking up from the last bit

its been quite some time since i last made an entry.. there's quite a bit of update and so i shall start updating bit by bit..

somewhere in the month of july, we organised a 3 person-only (me, mingxin and weisheng.. dear jenny stood us up) chalet.. i bet its something that not many people have tried doing before..
might seem a bit lame but it was a rather good alternative to the common drinking sessions at pubs and taking late night cabs home. before checking in at the chalet, we went gorcery shopping. and it was a surprise to learn that we spent an amazing amount of $150 on food that was meant for 3 of us.. but we kind of bought premium food anyway. pretty much enjoyed chilling there. we had premium bbq food, drinking of chivas mixtures, chatting late into the night or i think it was till dawn and jumping right into bed thereafter.

next day after check out, we went to this playground that was near the mrt. had a great laughing time while we played on the see-saw. there was great imbalance because of the weight difference. check out the photos and u will get what i mean. the one that really got me laughing was the scene depicted by the bottom left photo. mingxin's exasperated look cos i was unable to come down. the one on the top right corner was funny too. it seems that he finally got the chance to tilt upwards, and it took us great effort to maintain that position for the photo taking.

then somewhere towards end of july, emma organised a bbq session as a farewell gathering. it was an after work kind of thing. emma's bf was so nice to pick us up from the mrt station. we ate, chatted, took photos and ended the party at around 2am.

visited botanic gardens on one of the days with mel. think the last time i went there was when i was in kindergarten. anyway we went for yoga lesson before heading there and so by the time we were there, it was around 3 plus in the afternoon. decided to have late lunch at the cafe cos we heard that they served nice food. we finally settled on their breakfast menu. yes we took gourmet breakfast at 4pm. they do really live up to expectations. food was superb, coffee was nice too. after eating was a short stroll and some photo taking around the park. home sweet home thereafter.

that's all for now. be back for more updates. =)
